Akwa United ended Niger Tornadoes fine run of 3 wins on the bounce on matchday 30 match of the Nigeria Premier Football League played on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Akwa United eased pass Niger Tornadoes 4-1 at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium courtesy of a hattrick by Ubong Friday and another goal by Kabir Osoba.

Ubong Friday opened score on 37 minute following a header after goalkeeper Enaholo failed to handle Seyi Oguntayo's effort.

It soon became 2-0 in 5 minutes time as Osoba Kabir curled a beauty from 18 yards into the net to give Akwa United a comfortable lead into the second half.

Ubong Friday headed home his second of the game by an assist from Sani Suleiman on 70 minute.

10 minutes later Tornadoes goalkeeper Enaholo upended Salomon Chigoziem in the box for a penalty. Ubong Friday stepped up to grab his hat-trick.

Tornadoes striker Clinton Jephta reduced the deficit the deficit on 88 minute before Akwa United were reduced to 10 men after Ubong Essien got a second booking.

Akwa United are still 18th on the log with 34 points despite the win though with a game in hand while Niger Tornadoes drop to 10th with 39 points.
