Aliyu Zubairu, the head coach of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, has indicated his willingness to include foreign-based players in the squad for future competitions, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathers.
Following Nigeria’s triumph at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo, Zubairu is now turning his attention to the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, which will be held in South Africa.
Although he initially selected only local players for the WAFU tournament, Zubairu emphasized that he is committed to evaluating all players with the requisite skills, regardless of where they play.
"We will not hinder their participation and are committed to selecting those with the necessary skills," he affirmed during a meeting with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Ilorin.
