Dammam: Yemen's bid to qualify for the AFC U-19 Championship 2018 got off to a rousing start as they beat Turkmenistan in a Group D tie at the Prince Mohd b Fahad Stadium in Dammam, Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Omar Al-Khader opened the scoring for Yemen in the 25th minute and they took firm control of the match after that.
Yemen, however, had to wait till the 55th minute for their second goal, which was scored by Fadi Mohammed Othman.
The three points were emphatically confirmed when Mohammed Al-Huthaifi scored the third in the 64th minute.

Yemen will play India while Turkmenistan face Saudi Arabia on Monday.
