Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo says the club must exercise caution with Taiwo Awoniyi's injury after the striker broke his nose in Wednesday's FA Cup tie against Exeter, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Awoniyi collided with the Exeter goalkeeper and was stretchered off the pitch in visible pain late in the second half.

Santo revealed that the Nigeria international is recovering well but emphasized the need for careful management of the injury.

"He broke his nose, so he is in pain and is with the medical department," Santo told a press conference.

"We are waiting for the right protocols to be followed. It is a concussion, so we have to be really careful."

Santo added that Awoniyi is in good spirits despite his injury, saying: "He looks okay. He is smiling but with pain. In this situation, we have to be careful and take two or three days to settle down and see if he is going to be okay."

Forest face Fulham in the Premier League this weekend, and it remains to be seen whether Awoniyi will be fit to feature.
