Enyeama hung his glove at the end of the 19/20 season following a glorious career that saw him play for clubs in Israel and France.

“It’s really interesting, yes it is, and I miss football,” Enyeama said in an interview on Uyo’s Comfort 95.1FM.

“So I would like to return to it, first with a team here in France, because I trained here in Lille and back when I was in Akwa Ibom.

“And I will come back to Nigeria next year. So if Akwa United needs a goalkeeper for 4-5 months, yes, I have the opportunity to play for free.”

Enyeama, the 2013 African Nations Cup winner played for Enyimba and Heartland in the Nigeria Professional Football League before moving abroad.

If Vincent Enyeama does play in the NPFL next season, it will be a huge advantage to Nigeria's Premiere League competition as many from far and wide would want to see him in action.

The goalie who featured between the sticks for Nigeria in two World Cup editions can also serve as bait for players from abroad and also ex-Internationals as they would want to share a pitch with the Nigerian legend.
