UWCL: Asisat Oshoala dazzles as Barcelona beat Chelsea 2-1 on aggregate to reach final
Super Falcons Forward and five times Best African player of the year Asisat Oshoala featured for Barcelona Femeni in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea Women in the second leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League semifinal game played at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Caroline Graham Hansen gave the home side the lead in the 63rd minute when she received a pass from Bonmatí before firing a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner.
Four minutes after, Guro Reiten restored parity for the WSL champions when her left-footed shot beat the Barcelona goalkeeper.
As opposed to the first leg at Stamford Bridge where Oshoala came on as a substitute, she was named in the starting XI.
Oshoala got Barcelona's first two chances of the game but couldn't hit the target and add to her 5-goal haul. She was replaced on the hour mark by Salma Paralluelo.
However, Vicky Lopez who was the other Nigerian named in the matchday squad played no part in the encounter as she was on the bench for the entirety of the encounter.
It is Barcelona that will be playing in the final having won the first leg 1-0 and 2-1 on aggregate and they will await the winner between Wolfsburg and Arsenal for the final match which will be played on the 3rd of June.
