UCL: Calvin Bassey included in Ajax Squad to face Liverpool despite injury scare

Nigeria International Calvin Bassey has been included in Ajax’s squad for the UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday against Liverpool at Anfield despite recent injury scares.

There were concerns Bassey could miss the trip to England after the defender picked up a knock in the Eredivisie champions 5-0 demolition of Heerenveen on Saturday.

But the Nigeria international has now been named in the club’s 24-man squad for the games.

Alfred Schreuder’s side travelled to England for the game on Monday morning.

Bassey and his teammates will be looking to capitalize on Liverpool’s poor start to this season’s UCL campaign while Juergen Klopp’s men are looking to record their first win in the competition after loosing 4-1 to Osimhen’s Napoli.
