Nigerian striker Simeon Nwankwo is nearing a return to football after two months without a club, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 33-year-old former Salernitana player is close to joining Romanian powerhouse CFR Cluj, with negotiations for a one-year deal plus an option for an additional season reportedly at an advanced stage.
Simy has given his approval in principle to join Cluj, just hours before the summer transfer window closes.
This potential move would mark a new chapter for the striker, who has previously played for Gil Vicente and Portimonense in Portugal, and Crotone in Italy.
Simy in his Serie A 116 appearances had scored 34 goals
In Crotone, the Nigeria international hit the net 66 times in 159 matches.
CFR Cluj is considering Simy as a potential replacement for Louis Munteanu, who may be leaving the club.
