Akwa United have committed to redoubling their efforts to ensure their safety in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

During a courtesy visit from the Akwa Ibom State Football Association, club Chairman Elder Paul Bassey called for the association's support in their bid to avoid relegation.

Akwa United are set to face Lobi Stars when the league resumes next weekend.

“It’s a critical time in the history of this club and we thank you for your encouragement as we continue our push to end the season on a high,” Bassey said via Daily Post.

“We need all the support we can get, and as management, we will continue to put in our best effort to remain in the NPFL.”

Bassey expressed gratitude for the support from the State Football Association, emphasizing its importance to the team.

The Promise Keepers are currently 18th in the NPFL table with 37 points from 32 games.
