According to multiple sources close to the Monterrey club, Tigres UANL are reportedly seeking to add Cruz Azul star midfielder Orbelin Pineda to their squad for the upcoming Apertura tournament.
According to the reports, Pineda's stay at Cruz Azul is still in doubt, and Tigres are keen to take a chance at snagging the Mexican international. He has a contract that ties him to Cruz Azul until December 2021, and the cementeros have reportedly tried to sign him to a new contract, so far without any luck.
Tigres' interest is not new: last January they asked for Pineda on loan to play the FIFA Club World Cup, and last April they held talks with the player's agent to see if there was any chance that Pineda would be interested in joining the felinos.
