Ghana coach Avram Grant is developing a new formation for the Black Stars and has tried it in two pre-Africa Cup of Nations friendlies.
The former Chelsea manager prefers the 3-5-2 formation which is regarded as an attack-minded strategy and also best for his team when they have their back against the wall.
On Thursday when his side played Dutch Eredivisie side SC Camburr in a warm-up game, Grant fielded a strong line-up which had goalkeeper Razak Brimah between the sticks.
His three defenders were Jonathan Mensah, John Boye and Awal Mohammed.
Grant's five midfielders include Harrison Afful, Baba Rahman, Daniel Amartey, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Andre Ayew.
Asamoah Gyan and Jordan Ayew led the attack as the Black Stars came from a goal down to draw 1-1 in Spain.
The Black Stars beat Portuguese second-tier side Olhanense 3-0 in their first friendly played in Portugal on Wednesday.
Ghana will play Group C opponents Senegal, Algeria and South Africa at the tournament.
