Super Falcons players have denied a statement credited to the team supporting the Third Term Agenda of the incumbent Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, Nigeriasoccernet can report.
In different interviews cut across the team, four players who agreed to speak on condition of anonymity distanced themselves and expressed their dissatisfaction with the Captain, Onome Ebi and Asisat Oshoala for not representing the interest of the team but decided to delve into politics of the game.
In the interviews, the players unanimously and vehemently denied backing the 3rd agenda of Amaju Pinnick.
"I am very dissapointed in Onome and Oshoala." An European based player told BSN Sports from their Camp in Morocco.
Corroborating the midfielder, another player requested for the evidence of their 'unanimous agreement' for Pinnick to stay on.
"If truly we unanimously agreed to back Amaju Pinnick Third Term Agenda, then they should show the whole World the evidence, whether signed or by communication. My brother there was nothing like that."
Investigating further, another midfielder pointed accusing fingers at the Head Delegation, Aisha Falode, "We all knew what happened. It was the head of delegation that masterminded everything. It was like a rude shock when We read the news on internet. Instead of Onome and Oshoala to discuss about increment of our match bonus because we will play more matches now than ever, both of them were allowed to be used as political tool."
"We have concluded among ourselves to use the opportunity to tell the NFF through the President about the increment from $3,000 match bonus in the group stage to $4,000 and $4,000 they have been paying for the knockout stages to $5,000. Pinnick had already promised the team in Ghana that the federation will be paying the same match bonus the Super Eagles receive for Super Falcons." A gentle looking attacker corroborated.
Another player said, "And you believe that story? How can we support the Amaju Pinnick led NFF under whom we protested twice before getting our money. We have really suffered under this NFF. They contributed a lot to our inability to qualify for the 2020 Olympics."
When contacted, head of delegation, Aisha Falode spoke with BSN Sports for 12 minutes from Morocco but demanded not to be quoted, stating that the conversation 'is unofficial.'
The Super Falcons are in Morocco to defend their title they won in the African Women Cup of Nations. The nine-time African champions will Open their campaign against their African bitter rivals, Bayana Bayana of South Africa.
