Super Eagles players arrive Nigeria to plots of land, flat, MON award from Nigeria president
President of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lavished the Super Eagles with various gifts after reaching the finals of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nigerian contingent to the African Football tournament arrived Nigeria on Tuesday to a rousing welcome at the airport in Abuja.
The team met the number one citizen of the country and other government dignitaries who hosted them before they were conferred with the national award of the Member of the Order of the Niger.
The players and staff were also given a flat each in the Federal Capital Territory and pieces of land.
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu commended the team, the coach, the crew.
“Let this passing event not dispirit us but bring us together to work harder. We are a great nation bound as one by the green-white-green banner of resilience, joy, hope, duty, and untiring love.
“To those cherished Nigerian youths expressing their gifts in communities, drawing lines in the sand as they play football in their humble rectangles of play, you can be our heroes tomorrow, do not relent in your pursuit. My administration is here to make dreams come true,” the president said.
