Nigeria forward, Alex Iwobi has vowed that the Super Eagles are resolute in their quest to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The team's campaign begins next month with a home fixture against Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on September 7, followed by an away trip to Rwanda three days later.
Iwobi, speaking in a video posted on the Super Eagles' social media account, emphasized the team's determination to succeed, saying, "There's still a lot to fight for; we have much to prove. We know the quality we have in this team, and we need to show it consistently for Nigeria, just like we do for our club sides."
The Super Eagles have struggled recently, winning only once in their last four outings since the AFCON 2023 finals.
However, Iwobi remains confident, stating, "The fans expect a lot from us, and we expect a lot from ourselves. We're ready to get the points we need to qualify."
The three time African champions is expected to open camping next week Monday with shortlist expected to be revealed this week even with no substantial head coach.
