Kano Pillars midfielder, Azeez Shobowale, has signed a two-year deal with Sudanese giants, Al Hilal subject to international clearance after a short trial.

The diminutive player has penned a deal with one of the big two in Sudan after rejecting offers from two North African teams.

Azeez, who has also starred for 3SC and Dolphins (now Rivers United), was a mainstay for Kano Pillars last season and was on the verge of moving to Warri Wolves this season but the deal fell through at the last minute.

“I’m happy to have signed a deal with Al Hilal because what I saw on ground was satisfactory to me and my representatives,” Shobowale told supersport.com.

“Al Hilal are a very good side because they have a lot of good players and a large following here in Sudan so I’m happy to sign here.

“I was warmly welcomed and I hope to do my best for the team to win games and titles for Al Hilal and the fans.”

Shobowale will follow a long list of Nigerians to play in the Sudanese league that includes the late Endurance Idahor, Kelechi Osunwa, Mohammed Yusuf and Stephen Worgu.
