Ghana's deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah has revealed that the Black Stars budget for the Africa Cup of Nations will be made public.
The media have been critical on officials to disclose how much it is costing the country to play in the continent’s flagship event.
There is suspicion that officials inflate figures so they can line their pockets.
But Asamoah expects the Sports Ministry to come out with a statement before Saturday’s kick-off.
"The Minister [Mahama Ayariga] will make the budget known before the tournament starts," deputy minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah told Accra-based UTV.
"We don't want a repeat of what happened in Brazil. We are aware of the fact that the general public need to know the team's budget for the tournament hence the sector minister has decided to make the budget known before the tournament starts."
