Sporting Lagos Academy have emerged champions of the 2024 edition of the Gothia Puma trophy B-17 category after thrashing Japanese side FC Tokyo in the final, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Noisy Lagosians thumped the Japanese side 4-0 in a dominating final at the Gamla Ullevi to become champions in their first year of participation.
Yusuf Abdullahi opened score on 8 minutes before Tunde Akomolede doubled the lead 18 minutes into the first half.

John Lucky scored on 54 and 59 minutes to consolidate victory for the Nigerian representatives who played seven matches without no loss, scoring fifteen goals and conceding four goals while keeping six clean sheets.
They are the first Nigerian team to win the Gothia Puma Trophy.
