South Africa are sweating on the fitness of Rivaldo Coetzee and Thulani Hlatshwayo ahead of their final group game against Ghana on Tuesday.

Coetzee is struggling with a knee injury picked up in the opening Group C defeat of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations to Algeria.

The Ajax Cape Town defender did not feature in the draw with Senegal in the second group game.

Hlatshwayo is also struggling with an injury as coach Shakes Mashaba prepares his team for their biggest game of the tournament against a resurgent Ghana team.

Bafana Bafana team doctor Thulani Ngwenya however says he is confident the two key players will be ready for Tuesday’s clash in Mongomo.

“I must first congratulate the medical team for a good job done so far,” he said.

“We have two players on the injury list - Rivaldo Coetzee and Thulani Hlatshwayo.

“Rivaldo has a knee injury. He will go through a fitness test this afternoon to see if he can train with the side.

“The same for Hlatshwayo but I am confident they will be ready for the game against Ghana on Tuesday.”

South Africa need a win to have any chance of qualifying to the quarter finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Bafana Bafana lost their opening group game against Algeria and were held to a thrilling 1-1 draw by Senegal in their second group game.
