The deal comes with an option to buy or make the player a permanent member of the Serie B club.

The 30-year-old forward had struggled to get a starting shirt at Salernitana with the summer arrival of Krzysztof Piatek, Boulaye Dia and Diego Valencia.

“Benevento Calcio announces that it has reached an agreement with Salernitana for the right to sports performances of the striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

“The Nigerian footballer, born in 1992, arrives at the Giallorossi club on a temporary basis with the right of option.”

Nwankwo has now moved to his fourth Italian club after playing for Parma and Crotone previously.
