Nigeria's Ademola Lookman produced a stunning performance as Atalanta demolished Verona 6-1 in Saturday's Italian Serie A clash, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Super Eagles winger, freshly nominated for the 2024 CAF Men's Player of the Year award, underscored his contender status with two goals and two assists.
Lookman set the tone with an assist for Marten de Roon's sixth-minute opener, followed by another setup for Charles De Ketelaere's strike in the 14th minute.
The 27-year-old then took centre stage, scoring Atalanta's fourth and fifth goals in the 29th and 34th minutes, respectively.
Lookman's impactful outing came to an end in the 56th minute when he was replaced by Lazar Samardzic.
The win to Le Dea to the fourth position on the table with Ademola Lookman now on four goals and four assists in six league matches this season.
