Barcelona opted against making Marcus Rashford’s loan move permanent and instead signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Rashford spent last season with the Catalan club on loan from Manchester United. Barcelona chose not to activate a €30m deal to sign the England winger permanently.

The club subsequently brought in Gordon ahead of the new campaign. The transfer from Newcastle cost Barcelona €80m.
