REVEALED: Hearts rejected Herbert Addo's resignation after President Cup triumph
Under-pressure Hearts coach Herbert Addo had his resignation rejected after their President Cup win over rivals Asante Kotoko, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.
The experienced trainer has not been happy with the constant agitations against him and attempted to resign from the club after seeing his side beat rivals Kotoko on penalties to retain their President Cup crown.
But Hearts board member Frank Nelson impressed upon him to rescind his decision in a back-and-forth battle at the Accra sports stadium.
The former Aduana Stars trainer had his resignation letter wrapped in his pocket and attempted to deliver it to the club’s majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV.
But some top officials were quick to plead with him to stay on in a move to avert deepening their crisis.
Addo has come under mounting pressure since the side crushed out of the CAF Confederation Cup and their unflattering performance in the domestic front has not helped matters.
He says he’s had enough of the vilification and wants to bow out in peace but that will have to wait a little longer-at least until the end of the season.
Ex-Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani is being rumoured as the next man to take over his job at the capital-based side.
