The Nigerian women's national team defeated their Cameroonian counterparts 2-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, on Tuesday evening.

A brace in the first half of the game saw the former Atlético de Madrid Feminine player secure a 15th win for the 9-time African champions.

After 28 minutes of dominance by the Falcons, Ajibade was brought down in the box 18 as the referee blew the whistle for the penalty, which she stepped up to score.

A minute to the end of the first half, Rinsola Babajide found Ajibade with a perfect cross in the box for her to tap in for her second of the day.

The Super Falcons held on to the lead to secure a win in the encounter.

The encounter was initially scheduled to be a two-legged game with the first match scheduled for Saturday, May 31 at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun state, but was reduced to a leg encounter.

Indomitable Lionesses late arrival led to the match being scheduled for Monday, June 2, before the final decision by both federations, sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football, for the game to take place on June 3.

In continuation of their preparation for the 2024 WAFCON scheduled for July, the Super Falcons will play against Portugal on June 26, 2025.
