New Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey missed Thursday’s training session because of a minor injury.
Kwarasey is dealing with a tight hip and spent training on Thursday stretching out his hip with a trainer on the side of practice.
"He just had a little tight hip, but nothing major," Timbers coach Caleb Porter said.
"He's 100 percent, but it's a little bit tight, so we're just trying to protect him a little bit. These two days, it's almost like a reset a little bit and then we get back to work on Monday, so we didn't want to push it."
The Ghana goalkeeper joined this season after seven years with Norwegian side Stromsgodset where he was captain of the side.
Kwarasey is expected to be Timbers first choice goalkeeper when the new MLS season starts next month.
Portland Timbers open their campaign against Real Salt Lake on 07 March.
