Oshoala acknowledged that the team's inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities was a recurring issue, following a similar problem in their opening 1-0 loss to Brazil. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiwendu Ihezuo were among those who missed chances against Spain, with Alexia Putellas' late free kick proving the difference.

"We played good, we had our chances, we had opportunities to score," Oshoala said. "I think if we start scoring goals, we can compete with any team in the world."

The Bay FC striker emphasized the need for improvement in finishing, stating, "We were not clinical upfront... it's important for us to start scoring goals."
