In an interview with Paraguayan radio station Radio Monumental, midfielder Osvaldo Martinez revealed that he is close to a move back to LigaMX, after having spent last season with club Sol de America, of his native Paraguay.
"I have an offer from Mexico that I'm currently considering in order to go back" Martinez declared. That Mexican team is reportedly Queretaro FC, who will wait the end of the season in Paraguay to make a move on the 35-year old. Martinez had his share of problems while at the Paraguayan club, in a season full of injuries that allowed him to play just 8 matches with El Sol. His contract is up at the end of the campaign and he's already made it known that he will not renew it.
Martinez has extensive experience in Mexico, having played for 6 different LigaMX clubs, chief among them Monterrey and Club America; he's also won the title an astounding five times and the CONCACAF Champions League three times, so he's sure to bring great experience to the Gallos Blancos midfield if the deal is finalized.
