Next summer, Napoli is expected to part ways with their star striker, Victor Osimhen, according to veteran agent Dario Canovi, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Osimhen recently extended his contract with Napoli until 2026 featuring a reported release clause ranging from €130m to €140m.
Canovi, anticipating Osimhen's departure, cited Napoli's struggle to match last season's success as a reason.
He added that the contract extension was a strategic move to elevate the forward's market value.
“Napoli have been in difficulty since the start of the championship. In my opinion the departure of (Luciano) Spalletti and (Cristiano) Giuntoli caused what is happening,” Canovi told TMW.
“Having let both of them leave, the club was practically massacred, they were the cornerstones of Napoli who won. Giuntoli and especially Spalletti.
“Osimhen is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion he will go away in June.”
Osimhen despited his fitness concern this season has registered seven goals and two assists in his 13 league appearances.
