Nasarawa Amazons rallied from behind to secure a win while Bayelsa Queens edged familiar foes Rivers Angels in Match day 1 of the Nigeria Women Football League Super Six, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nasarawa Amazons defeated Naija Ratels 2-1 in the first match of the 2025 Nigeria Women's Football League Super Six tournament at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

Rita Tsebee had opened the score for the Abuja side on 13 minutes from a freekick before Jenat Akekeromowei levelled matters for the Lafia outfit on 40 minutes.

Josephine Mathias completed the comeback with 10 minutes played in the second half as the Nasarawa Amazons edged the North Central derby.

Olabiyi Alaba's 34-minute strike made her birthday worth the while as Bayelsa Queens got one over their rivals, Rivers Angels, in the South South derby.
