Women’s football enthusiast and head of Supporters club of Confluence Queens, Moses Bako has called on government of Kogi State to give the state female team, Confluence Queens all the necessary support ahead of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six playoffs, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.
Confluence Queens secured one of the spot in the competition that will determine the winners of the 2023/2024 edition of the Nigeria Women Football League and Nigeria's representative at the CAF Women's Champions League after finishing second in group A with 25 points in 14 matches.
A feat Bako urges the state government to come in handy for the team to consolidate on the already achieved success after consistent performance and as a premiership team over the years.
“As the chairman of Confluence Queens supporters club, I implore the good people of Kogi State and the government to throw their weight behind the Confluence Queens team as they prepare for the NWFL Premiership Super Six in Bayelsa state,” Bako stated passionately in an exclusive interview with Nigeriafootball.ng.
He emphasises the effort of the team in coming this far and believes that it could be better with a good financial backing.
“With the talented players they have, it’s imperative that we support them financially to ensure they can represent Kogi State with pride and distinction in Bayelsa,” Bako concluded.
Confluence Queens start their campaign against Edo State in the tournament's opener on Saturday at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
