As action returns today (Wednesday) at Lafia City Stadium on match day 6 in the ongoing NWFL Premiership 2023/2024 season, third-place Nasarawa Amazons brace up as they welcome group A table toppers Confluence Queens of kogi State in what is believed to be a cracker by soccer pundits.
The Lafia Landladies after failing to secure a point in Gombe on matchday 5, following a 2-1 loss to Adamawa Queens have now fixed their eyes on the home tie as they look forward to getting the needed support from home fans in exploiting and sailing through as the year is getting to an end.
Nasarawa Amazons lost 1-0 at the confluence stadium, Lokoja in the 2012/2022 NWFL Premiership as Nasarawa Amazons won 2-0 against Confluence at the Lafia city stadium, Nasarawa State in the reverse fixture.
While in the 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership season, Nasarawa Amazons lost 2-3 to confluence Queens in their adopted (Makurdi) home and the second leg held at the Confluence stadium ended in a barren draw as Nasarawa Amazons missed out of the Super Six playoffs.
Players to watch on the side of the Amazons are Saheed Adebisi, Kalu chinyere, and Emmanuel Gift. Their energetic and tactical combinations have contributed massively to put the Lafia Landladies side in good form during the run of play, and come tomorrow we hope for same attitude to propel the team higher after the final whistle.
The head coach of Confluence Queens, will approach tomorrow's tie in Lafia with caution knowing the prowess of the Amazons (Lafia landladies), Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Queens handler shall bring in the likes of Okoronkwo Amarachi, Abdullahi Hauwa where a former player of the Amazons, Offor Merit, and Doom Andoaser and pronounce goalkeeper Echefu Sylvia, to help him curtail the firepower of the host.
