Heartland Queens' goaltender, Uchenna Chukwu has assured the side's teeming fans that she is ready to battle her former club, Nasarawa Amazons in the next home match at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri in few days time, Heartland Queens media can report.
Chukwu who joined the Owerri mainstreams in the ongoing season has worked assiduously hard to cement the number one spot in the midst of abundance of qualities and competitiveness in the goalkeeping area that Heartland Queens are blessed with.
The busy-as-bees looking netminder has been having a blistering performance from the start of the season and so far has kept five clean sheets in nine NWFL Premiership matches and I will not fail to mention that she has been involved in one goal session in the ongoing season.
The lanky shot stopper has only conceded a paltry four-goal in all the nine matches this season and two of the goals were from the spot against Abia Angels and Adamawa Queens while the other two came from open play.
The mean goalie so far this season is topping the NWFL Premiership Group A goaltenders' chat with the highest number of clean sheets and few conceded goals and is warming up to increase the record tally when Heartland Queens lock horns against her former side, Nasarawa Amazons next week.
In a brief chat with Heartland Queens media as made available to Nigeriasoccernet.com, Chukwu revealed that her target this season is to hit the 10 clean sheets mark before the Super Six tourney.
"This season so far, having maintained five clean sheets in nine matches, my target is to hit 10 clean sheets before the Super Six tournament proper and for this reason I work very hard everyday during trainings".
"Thanks to our coaches, more especially our goalkeeper trainer, Dino Eugene. They have kept us on our toes".
"We are blessed with good goalkeeping talents in our team, so the competition to mount the sticks is high which means you have to be at your best all the time to be able to have the chance to mount the sticks on match day".
"Our next match is at home against Nasarawa Amazons and I have plans to maintain a clean sheet taking cognisance of the fact that we were denied at least a draw in Lafia, this time we will teach them how to win cleanly with good football".
"My teammates and I will activate the hashtag ‘Operation Nasarawa Amazons must fall’ come next week. That is my former club and they are a very good side which explains their position at the top of the table but we will prove to the world that we are the better side on matchday 10 next week," Chukwu concluded.
Heartland Queens will take on Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday, March 20 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on matchday 10 in the bid to return to the top spot.
Recall that Heartland Queens lost 0-1 to Nasarawa Amazons in the first encounter on matchday 2 at the Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa.
Victory in the epic clash will bring back the Owerri landladies to the top of group's log.
