NWFL: Bayelsa Queens back to top after win in Ado, as Heartland Queens leapfrog Nasarawa Amazons

Bayelsa Queens returned to the top of group B of the Nigeria Women Football League after a slim win over Ekiti Queens on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

A goal from Abiola Blessing sealed a 1-0 win for the former champions over struggling Ekiti Queens at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

Abiola scored in the 78 minute to take the Prosperity Ladies to the top with 19 points, a point better than Rivers Angels after match day 10.

Meanwhile, in group A, Heartland Queens recorded a vital win against previous group leaders, Nasarawa to go top.

A goal by Mary Lucky 6 minutes to the end of the game ensured the Owerri based team took all points which move them top with 18 points, a point better than Nasarawa Amazons.

Meanwhile, relegation battlers, Sunshine Queens helped their fight with a 3-0 win over Robo Queens of Lagos at the Akure Township Stadium.

Fasilat Adeyemo's 2 minute own goal, Taiwo Ajibade on 8 minutes and Shola Oduwale on 11 minute goals gave Sunshine Queens a comfortable win in the southwest derby.

The win takes them 7th on the log with 10 points, 2 points better than Ekiti United.

In Aba, Royal Queens held Abia Angels FC to a goalless draw to boost their relegation fight at the Enyimba International Stadium.
