NPFL'23: Kwara, Ondo Govts, Stakeholders excited as Kwara Utd beat the drop

The management of Kwara United Football Club has praised the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, football stakeholders in the state, Fans and Supporters of the club for their support, after their 1-0 victory against Nasarawa United on Sunday.

Kwara United Football Club defeated Nasarawa United by a lone goal this evening, at the Akure Township Stadium, to rise to 17 points on the table, which is enough to take them above the red zone in Group A of the Abridged League.

Substitute Yahaya Ibrahim guided home a lose ball in the far side in the 82nd minute, to score the all-important goal that ensured that Kwara United achieved one of the longest stretch of stay in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

While reacting after the hard earned victory, Club Chairman Kumbi Titiloye equally thanked the Ondo State government, Ondo State FA, Supporters and Fans of Sunshine Stars and football followers, for their support.

"On behalf of Kwara United Football Club, we appreciate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the State Sports Commission, our fans and supporters, as well the football stakeholders, for standing with us at our trying period.

"We also thank the Government and people of Ondo State, Sunshine Stars, their Fans and Supporters, as well as the stakeholders for standing by us. We appreciate them.

The Head Coach, Kabir Sulaiman Dogo also thanked the state government, the Sports Commission, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and football stakeholders for rising in support of Kwara United Football Club.

He expressed delight that the team escaped the drop, as he gave special thank to the management of Kwara United Football Club for supporting the team to sustain their NPFL slot this season.
