As Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin host achrivals Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in Benin on Sunday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 17 game,the General Coordinator of the Benin Arsenals Mrs Sabina Chikere has urged the group A leaders to finish the season well by sustaining their invincibility and as well go further to secure continental ticket.
Insurance versus Shooting Stars match is scheduled to kickoff at 4:00 PM at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin.
The Benin Arsenals' General Coordinator said that though management of the club is already satisfied with the success so far recorded this season,but are enthusiastic about the possibility of their darling team finishing the season tops without a defeat and can as well go further to fight for the season's title at the Super Six.
"We thank God for what He has used our boys and the coaches to do for us this season. We came from the second division league and found ourselves in group A, group of champions, tagged the group of death. We were dubbed underdogs that nobody gave us the chance to survive,but here we are,we did not only survived but on top of the lather with two matches to the end of the regular season. We are also sure of super six playoffs."
"I can say it is mission accomplished. We give glory to God for our success this season. I salute our boys and the coaching crew for their hard work and dedication but there is room for improvement. I know we can do better to reciprocate Edo government gesture.
"The state governor Mr Godwin Obaseki and his deputy Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu have given us all necessary encouragement. Winning the super six should be our task and target now. It is possible. So, I encourage and challenge our boys to go for gold. We are good enough to be crowned champions," The female sports administrator enthused.
Insurance FC extended their unbeaten run in the current season to sixteen after a 0-0 draw at Gombe Utd last Sunday in the match day 16 encounter at the Pantami stadium,Gombe and remained the group A leaders with 32 points,four points clear of second placed Enyimba FC.
A win against Shooting Stars in Benin on Sunday will seal Insurance super six ticket as group A leaders. Both teams settled for a 2-2 draw in the first round meeting in Ibadan after the Oluyole warriors came from a 2-0 deficit to share the spoils.
