Nasarawa United coach, Abubakar Arikya is optimistic his side can still survive the relegation in the Nigeria Professional Football League if they continue to fight like they did against Plateau United, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Solid Miners on Sunday went down to Nenrot Silas’ solitary strike in the 13th minute of the encounter at the New Zaria Stadium.
Despite the result further condemning Nasarawa United to the relegation deep, Arikya remains positive.
“It’s painful that we lost this game in this fashion,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We still can avoid the relegation if we continue to fight like the way we did in this game. We just need to work hard and pray for better luck.”
Nasarawa United remain in ninth position on the Group A table with 13 points from 15 games.
