NPFL: Plateau United hand Remo Stars second defeat

Remo Stars were handed their second defeat of the season in the Nigeria Premier Football League following their 3-1 loss to Plateau United on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Peace Boys proved too good for the Sky Blue Stars at the Jos Stadium after goals from Franklin Ebuka and Sadiq Abubakar earned maximum points for the hosts.

Plateau United got the first goal 4 minutes into the game through Franklin Ebuka and it remained cagey throughout the first half.

However, the second half came with a higher tempo and Sadiq Abubakar doubled the lead for Plateau Utd from close range on 64 minutes.

Ebuka extended United's lead 7 minutes later with his second of the day, putting the hosts in a comfortable lead.

Remo pulled one back courtesy of a goal by Malik Jabbar, his first goal in Remo Stars colors on 83 minutes, but it could be a consolation as it ended 3-1 in favor of Plateau United after the final whistle.

The result means Remo Stars drop to second following Rivers United's win over Shooting Stars Sports Club.
