Kwara United have halted high-flying, Remo Stars' perfect run after beating them in their Nigeria Premier Football League match day five encounter on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Harmony Boys piped 10-man Sky Blue Stars 1-0 at the Kwara Sports Complex courtesy of a second-half goal by Shola Abdulraheem.
After a goalless first-half affair slightly dominated by the hosts, things began to go south for the visitors after Faisal Sani received a second yellow card in the 49th minute.
Kwara United took advantage of the numerical superiority to break the deadlock six minutes later through Abdulraheem's curler from outside the box.
The Ikenne-based club made claims for an equaliser, but it was not to be as Kwara United took the maximum points and ended Remo Stars' unbeaten run.
It is Kwara United's first win of the season which means they have five points after four matches while Remo Stars have twelve points after five matches.
