Sunshine Stars have appointed Kennedy Boboye as their new head coach as replacement for sacked Coach Edith Agoye on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Boboye joins the club for his second stint after Coach Edith Agoye was told by the Akure Gunners management to step aside as their head coach.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Bamidele Ologunloluwa, at a meeting with the coaching crew of the team on Monday.

Agoye was sacked alongside his technical crew - assistant Coaches Akin Olowokere, Banjo Adepoju and Folorunsho Stephen.

Sunshine Stars are 12th on the Nigeria Premier Football League log and only one point away from relegation zone.

This is the second team Boboye will take charge of this season after his short spell His first at Heartland FC.

Boboye, 45 who has a UEFA C-Licence and has won the Nigeria Premier Football League title twice with Plateau United and Akwa United. He has also coached Remo Stars and Abia Warriors.
