It was a hard-fought 1-0 victory for the Sky Blue Stars at the Remo Stars Stadium who are smarting from a 3-1 loss over Plateau United on Wednesday.

After starting the better side, Daniel Ogunmodede's boys pushed for the opener, but the Benin Arsenals held strong with their defense following attempts by Sodiq Ismail, Olamilekan Adedayo, and Tochukwu Michael.

However, the deadlock was broken with just 2 minutes to the end of the first half courtesy of Ghana's Dela Akorli.

Dela Akorli got his first goal of the season with a deft lob over the goalkeeper following Nduka Junior’s cross which wasn’t dealt with and leaving Ghanaian to pounce.

The second half saw the host push for another goal, but there was no more goal as Akorli's strike was enough to get maximum points and return top of the log pending Rivers United's match on Monday.
