Ikorodu City kick started their campaign to the 2022/2023 season on a winning note as they beat FC Ebedei at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Oga Boys team defeated Ebedei three goals to one to earn their first maximum points in the Southern Conference group B3 fixture.

Olubode Hassan and Captain of the side, Oyedokun Tosin were the protagonists for the Ikorodu on the day.

In a game dominated by the Host, the push for a goal yielded fruit in the half hour mark as Hassan pounced on a blocked shot from Ezeja, rounded the goalkeeper and then scored.

With more intensity, the Ikorodu boys got a penalty which was converted by the skipper, Tosin to double the lead in the 35th minutes.

The Visitors were not going to allow the tie be a stroll in the pack for the Hosts as they reduced the deficit two minutes later as the first half ended 2-1.

In the second half, it was another half controlled by the home team and it was just a matter of time before the tally was increased.

Chinedu found  Tosin who scored a beauty for his brace and restore the two-goal lead for Ikorodu in the 75th minutes of the game.

3-1 it ended after 90 minutes and the home team go with the three points in their first game of the season.
