The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Secretary, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed disclosed that the Super Eagles can achieve the great feat achieved by Morocco at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
The Atlas Lions became the first African country to reach the semi final of the Football biggest showpiece after beating Portugal by a lone goal in the quarter finals.
The Moroccan team finished top of their group becoming the first African team after 24 years before getting the better of football powerhouses like Belgium, Spain and Portugal and Canada on their way to reach the semifinal of FIFA World Cup.
Sanusi, during the inauguration of the Players Unions’ reconciliation committee in Abuja said if there is peace among football stakeholders, Morocco's wonderful outing at the World Cup can be achieved and surpassed by Nigeria.
“Morocco have done exceedingly well for Africa at the ongoing FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar,” the NFF scribe told media.
“Nigeria is capable of doing likewise and even better if we have a peaceful atmosphere in which all stakeholders work towards a common, noble goal.”
The Super Eagles' best feat at the mundial is a Round of 16 finish on three occasions – 1994, 1998 and 2014 after participating six times.
