NFF confirms safety of Nigerian players in Turkey

Following the earthquake disaster on Monday, the Nigeria Football Federation has disclosed that Nigerian players based in Turkey are fine fettle, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.

News broke of the disaster which has led to the death of more 72 people in some cities of Turkey, a news that have left the world mourning and praying for the country.

The earthquake hit the cities of Adana (Adana Dermirspor), Gaziantep amongst others with Henry Onyekuru and David Babajide Akintola play for Adana Dermirspor. Emmanuel James for Gaziantep.

And with fears of any Nigerian player affected by the incidence, the football house of the country has announced no Nigerian has been affected by the disaster.

The NFF Twitter handle states, “The Nigeria Football Federation is sad about the unfortunate earthquake in Kahramanmaras city of Turkey.

NFF President, Alh. Ibrahim Gusau has reached out to Nigerian players based in Turkey and they have all confirmed that they are fine.

“We pray the souls of the departed rest in peace even as we commiserate with the people of Turkey at this time."

Meanwhile, Ghanaian player, Christian Atsu has been reported founded and in the hospital recuperating.
