NFF clarifies news on Victor Boniface's national team call up

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has debunked the news that Union Saint-Gilloise player, Victor Boniface rejected  invitation for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea Bissau, due to payment of flight tickets, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Punch newspaper had reported that the player turned down the invitation for the two-legged affair "after he was called up but wasn’t sent his flight ticket accompanying for the trip to Nigeria and back to Belgium."

However, the NFF in swift response, disclosed that the player was only included in the preliminary list, but was not in the final list.

"By way of clarification, Victor Boniface was not invited for the Super Eagles' AFCON Qualifiers against Guinea Bissau. He was on the provisional list but didn't make the final list, and therefore was not sent a flight ticket." It said in a tweet.

Besides, this news medium has gathered the player has also denied news describing it as a "big lie".
