The Tigers are determined to hang onto their best players following their Championship play-off victory over Sheffield Wednesday last week.

Only a few days ago Elmohamady told hulldailymail.co.uk "I want to stay, of course", adding "Why not? I have been here for four years and really enjoyed it. It's a good club with good fans and good players".

And the 28-year-old, who joined Hull in 2013 on a permanent deal following an impressive loan spell, now looks set to remain at the KC Stadium along with Tom Huddlestone as both have been offered new deals.

"Both Ahmed and Tom contributed hugely towards our success in the end-of-season play-offs and we are keen for both players to remain with us on our return to the Premier League," vice-chairman Ehab Allam told the club's official website.

Meanwhile, Aluko's association with the Tigers are over after he was told he won't be handed a new contract.

The 27-year-old Nigerian, who scored three goals in 31 appearances this season, joined the club in 2012 from Rangers, but he is set for a new adventure next season with Leeds United and Fulham reportedly interested in his services.

Defender Ryan Taylor has also been released.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank both Sone Aluko and Ryan Taylor for their efforts and wish them both well for their future careers," Allam added.
