New Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah to arrive in Accra tonight for Black Stars AFCON training camp
New Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah is delighted he is arriving in Accra tonight (Thursday) to join the Black Stars for their training camp ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 24-year-old, who has his maiden Ghana call-up last week, will arrive at the Kotoko International Airport at 8pm to join the Black Stars for the first time.
The England-based striker took off from the Heathrow Airport in London via British Airways and revealed a picture of himself at the airport delighted at the chance to play for his country.
"Finally at the airport. Soon touch down Ghana!!! Excited at the opportunity to represent my country," the former Cambridge United striker wrote.
Appiah has declared himself fit to join the Black Stars for their training camp after suffering an injury setback in a league match for his club over the weekend.
The striker came off with a knock at the half-time of Cambridge United’s 1-0 defeat to Southend United in League Two on Boxing Day.

This sparked fears that Appiah could be ruled out of the tournament to be held in Equatorial Guinea next month.
But the England-based striker stayed fully fit to start training with the Black Stars ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Appiah, who plays in the fourth-tier of English football, was a surprise inclusion in Ghana’s provisional 31-man squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
