Hakim Ziyech and Vahid Halilhodzic are clearly not friends. Earlier this week, the national coach was critical of the Chelsea midfielder, who was surprisingly not selected for this international match. The playmaker has now made himself heard via his Instagram account.

"Next time you talk, speak the truth!" Ziyech wrote, adding a clown emoticon. The attacking midfielder-cum-winger has made 35 official appearances for Morocco so far, scoring 16 goals. So now he has not been called up, while he did not play in the previous international period. According to the coach, this has to do with Ziyech's behavior.

"For the first time in my career, I had to deal with a player who did not want to train for the national team and pretended to be injured. But the tests showed that he could just play for Morocco," Halilhodzic said at the time. "His behavior in the last period has not been as befits a player in a national team. Ziyech should be a leader, a role model. As long as I am the national coach of Morocco, I will not tolerate such behaviour. For me, the team comes first. everything and individuals cannot take the squad hostage."

The Moroccan team will play against Sudan on Thursday evening, after which a meeting with Guinea-Bissau awaits in the battle for a ticket for the world championship in Qatar. Incidentally, Ajax player Noussair Mazraoui is also missing from the selection, despite his excellent start to the season. He would also not be able to get along with the national coach of the team.
