Michelle Alozie's stoppage time goal gives Houston Dash a crucial point

Super Falcons forward, Michelle Alozie saved Houston Dash's blushes as she came off the bench to give her side a point at home on Saturday.

Her United States of America National Women's Soccer League Side (NWSL) side who led in the first phase of the tie by a goal to nil had to do a come-from behind to draw 2-2 .

 

Alozie was brought in the 81st minute and scored a minute into the six-minute stoppage time to draw her team level.

 

“The game was really important, we wanted to get three points,” Alozie said. “We were just not finishing final third moments. We had a lot of shots. We just need to capitalize on that. But I was glad we were able to come back from being 2-1 down.”

Her well struck shot from close range following her powerful header that was saved by the goalkeeper towards the Nigerian earned her her second goal of the year.

 

Alozie, the Dash heroine for the day emerged the Budweiser player of the match.

 

The Nigerian International's goal came handy for the Houston moving them second adrift of San Diego and putting them in good stead for a semi final place in the 2022 playoffs.
