The Udinese shot-stopper, set to feature against Rwanda, emphasized the importance of capitalizing on the immense talent within the squad under interim coach Augustine Eguavoen.
In a conversation with Victor Modo, Okoye described the tournament as a significant moment for the team and the country. “This is the moment I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been attending camp for a long time now, and finally, I have the chance to play again,” Okoye said. Grateful for the opportunity, he is eager to deliver a top performance.
“We can do the same thing again. We can reach the final for sure. This is what we want; this is why we are going to the Afcon. We want to win the Afcon now,” he concluded, confident in the team's strength to achieve success.
The Super Eagles will face Rwanda on Monday as they continue preparations for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
