Ashantigold captain Lawrence Lartey has backed the side to win their first Ghana Premier League title in over a decade.

The miners are four-points clear at the top ahead of the resumption of the second half of the Ghanaian top-tier.

However, there are doubts about the title credentials of the Obuasi based-side wit history not in their favour in the last couple of years.

But club captain Lawrence Lartey insists they will not let the opportunity slip this time around.

“AshGold has been in this situation before but the team is more matured this time around,” he is sportscrusader.

“We have players who have been in the team for three years so there unity and bond is very strong.

“I don’t think we will let the title slip by us this time around.”

Ashantigold travel to Accra to face Hearts on June 7.
