With CD Leganes's 1-0 home win over Levante UD bringing Matchday 26 of the current LaLiga Santander campaign to an end on Monday, it is now time to discover who has made it into the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI.
The lineup is made up of players representing seven different clubs: RCD Espanyol, FC Barcelona, D. Alaves, Leganes, Atletico Madrid, SD Huesca and Girona FC. The league leaders have provided the most, with no fewer than three, including Player of the Matchday Sergi Roberto, who racked up 15 fantasy points thanks to his sublime performance in El Clasico.
Espanyol's Diego Lopez (10 fantasy points) gets the nod between the sticks, off the back of a fine display in the team's 3-1 home victory against R. Valladolid CF which included an impressive penalty save.
Besides Sergi Roberto, FC Barcelona are also represented by Gerard Pique (15) with the centre-back featuring alongside Alaves's Guillermo Maripan (14), Leganes's Vasyl Kravets (13) and Atletico's Jose Maria Gimenez (12) in the four-man defence.
The midfield is formed of three top-quality players. Ivan Rakitic (12) scored Barcelona's winner at the Santiago Bernabeu, Jony (12) registered two assists in Alaves's win against Villarreal CF and Juanpi (11) was on the scoresheet for Huesca in the 2-1 success over Sevilla FC.
There are plenty of goals up front, with the duo of Girona's Cristhian Stuani (15) and Atletico's Alvaro Morata (14) both notching braces during wins for their respective teams over the weekend.
